Farning, Mary (22 AUG 1872 - 3 Apr 1915)

This week is recorded the untimely demise of Mrs. John Farning. Her departure from this life on Saturday at two o’clock p.m. is very sad indeed. On March 29, a son was born to this family and a few days later occurred the death of the mother, who leaves seven children, most of them in the tenderest of years, to yearn for a mother’s comfort and presence.

Mary Luchterhand was born in Washington Co., Wis, Aug. 22, 1872. She came with her parents to Marshfield, Wis. and lived there until married to John Farning on April 6, 1896. To this union were born eight children, one boy dying in infancy. Deceased also leaves besides her husband a mother, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at the German Reformed Church this city (Greenwood, Clark County, Wis.), at two o’clock Tuesday afternoon. Interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
