Brisbois, Katherine (7 Jul 1848 - 14 Augl 1921)

The death of Mrs. Katherine Brisbois, who passed away at 2:30 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 14, 1921, at her home at 107 Grand Av., occasioned the expression of much sincere sympathy among a host of endeared friends and neighbors, who had known her during thirty-eight years of residence here, for thirty years of which she was in the millinery business. The deceased’s maiden name was Miss Katherine Paulus and she was born on July 7, 1848, in Alsace-Lorraine, coming in about the year 1858 to America. In 1872 she was united in marriage with Joseph Brisbois at Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. The couple moved to Wausau thirty-eight years ago and the latter’s death occurred in this city in 1912.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. John Patzer and two daughters, Mrs. C. Adams, and Miss Harriet Brisbois, all of this city. During the thirty-eight years the deceased had been a resident of Wausau she had been actively interested in church and social work, being a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of st. Mary’s Hospital, St. Elizabeth’s Aid Society, the Ladies of the G.A. Society of St. Mary’s Church.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning at St. Mary’s Church by the Rev. Fr. J.B. Hauck. Interment took place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The pallbearers were Albert Martini, Fred and Oliver Clairmore, all nephews of the deceased.

Attending the funeral from out of the city were Mrs. Charles Brooks and daughter, Gertrude, of Milwaukee; Mrs. Louis Kurth of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Darling of Antigo, and Mr. and Mrs. William Patzer of Blackwell, Wis. (Wausau Pilot)
