Roder, Margaret A. (Marriage - 30 JUN 1920)

Mr. Ernest J. Vine and Miss Margaret A. Roder were married at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Roder in Pine Valley, Clark County, Wis., Wednesday evening, June 30, 1920, Rev. L.B. Colman officiating. The groom was attended by his brother William Vine and Miss Ruby Sterns of Duluth, a cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Vine of the town of Grant, Clark County, Wis. He was born and brought up at their farm home. He entered the service of his country during the War, making a gallant record. He was severely wounded, but happily has almost fully recovered from his wounds. He is a young man of high character and industry, and a capable farmer. The bride graduated from the Teachers’ Training department of Neillsville High School and became very successful as a teacher, her work being greatly appreciated by all her patrons and pupils. Her womanly qualities and excellent home training have well fitted her for the duties of the new home she is to help establish. After the ceremony a bounteous supper was served, at which seventy-six relatives and close friends sat down.

The next day the young couple left on an auto trip to various parts of the state. On their return they will settle on a farm near the town hall in Grant. They begin their new life under favorable circumstances, which with their fitness for the tasks before them should insure success and happiness.
