Djubenski, Andrew B. (4 Feb 1925 - 20 NOV 2002)

Andrew B. Djubenski, 77, Greenwood, Clark County, Wis., died on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at his home. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 23, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ed Gregorich, Anji Djubenski, Steve Djubenski, Michael Djubenski, Jonathon Djubenski and Dennis Rasmussen. Honorary pallbearers were Floyd Plautz, Dick Schmitz, George Plautz, Paul Bugar Jr., Lawrence Artac and Jerome Krempasky.

Andrew Benedict Djubenski was born on Feb. 4, 1925, in Willard, to Michael and Catherine (nee Zaranski) Djubenski. He was raised on the family farm and educated at North Mound School. After his education, he worked for Plautz Brothers until 1950, when he was drafted into the U.S. Army for overseas duty in the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge in 1952, he went back to work for Plautz Brothers. He married Clarabelle Henchen on May 13, 1953, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. He worked for Dave Ingham’s mink farm in Spencer for two years, and then moved to Willard in 1955 and resumed working for Plautz Brothers. They moved to Green-wood in 1964. In 1988, he left Plautz, Pekol & Haas and worked for Lawrence Artac for two years and then Paul Bugar Trucking, Loyal, for three years. He retired in 1993. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Greenwood American Legion. His interests included hunting, fishing, carpentry, gardening, woodworking and operating a bulldozer.

Survivors include his wife, Clarabelle, Greenwood; five children, Mark (Julie) Djubenski, Abbotsford, Raymond (Sue) Djubenski, Greenwood, Thomas Djubenski, Greenwood, Brenda (Michael) Szymanski, Greenwood, and Dennis (Alicia) Djubenski, Greenwood; nine grandchildren, Anji Djubenski, Jonathon Djubenski, Michael Djubenski, Steve Djubenski, Aarica Djubenski, Tylor Djubenski, Jamie Szymanski, Kayln Szymanski and Jared Szymanski; one great-grandson, Dominic Pippin; two step-granddaughters, Jessica Schultze and Shannon Horstmann; two step-great-grandchildren, Austin Schofield and Ethan Schultze; and one sister-in-law, Mary Djubenski, Willard.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one grandson, Christopher Djubenski; four brothers, John Djubenski, Michael Djubenski, Roger Djubenski and Stanley Djubenski; and five sisters, Stasha (in infancy), Rose Zalewski, Antonia Orth, Felicia LaFlex and Mary Maslanka.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.
