Scheel, William G. (12 Apr 1887 - 16 Feb 1920)

The members of the Lutheran Church of Globe, Clark County, Wis. were greatly shocked by the sudden death of their Trustee, Mr. Wm. Scheel, Jr., which occurred at his home Monday afternoon Feb. 16, 1920, after a sickness of 6 days.

William Gustave Albert Scheel, son of Wm. Scheel, Sr., and Anna (nee Quast), was born April 12, 1887. At the age of 14 years he was confirmed in the Neillsville Lutheran Church in 1901. He was married to Helen Klueckman Oct. 27, 1910. The married was blessed with four children, Dora, Lillian, Herman and Louise, who with their mother greatly mourn the loss of a good, kind and loving father and husband. He is also survived by his aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm Scheel, eight sisters and two brothers: Mrs. W. B. Thoma, Mrs. August Dudei, Mrs. Paulina Roeder, Mrs. Theodore Kalsow, Mrs. Ed Gall, Mrs. A. Dorn, Mrs. R. Daevel, Mrs. W. May, Ernest and Louis, also the congregation and very many friends.

He was 32 years, 10 months and 4 day of age.

Funeral services were held in the house at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon, Rev. Parisius officiating. A beautiful song of consolation was rendered. The casket was carried from the Scheel home to the church. Four girls carrying wreaths and floral offerings. Five Trustees following after with services in church were conducted, where he was a lifelong member. Always willing to help toward the betterment of religious institutions and to provide homes for people who were less fortunate than himself.

The congregation accompanied him to his resting place at the Globe Lutheran Cemetery.
