Shilts, Florence (1889? - 24 SEP 1892)
A very sad and fatal accident occurred here (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Friday afternoon last, resulting in the death of Florence, a three year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Shilts. It seems the little one in company with several others, were playing near the shingle piles along the road opposite this office, and a team loaded with lumber, having been left standing alone for a few moments by their driver, the children in the meantime started the team, the wheels passing over little Florence just above the hips, causing a rupture of the bowels. Death ensured in twenty minutes. The funeral occurred on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the remains being interred in the Thorp Catholic Cemetery. The grief stricken parents have the sympathy of this entire community in their great bereavement.
