Died, at his residence in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Thursday Nov. 1, 1888, Peter Raidt, of lung fever and old age, aged 72 years and nine months.

Peter Raidt was born in Rottenberg, Germany, Jan. 31, 1815 and immigrated to this country in 1846, settling down at Sheboygan, Wis., where he followed his trade of carpenter. In 1853 he married Miss Elizabeth Pegel, of Calumet Co. and remained in the county for about a year, when he removed to Manitowoc Co., town of Schleswig, where he remained on a farm for twenty years. In 1875 he removed with his family to a farm in Taylor County and six years ago removed to this place, where he resided up to the time of his death. He leaves a widow and four sons and one daughter, Mr. Raidt was a kind and generous husband and father, and was highly respected by all. The funeral occurred on Saturday last, Rev. A. M. Parmenter officiating.

(Follow on note)

Oh, I did some searching on ancestry, and I believe that his father's name, was Morris.

Regards,

Irene Wright
