Kollmansberger, Ervin J. (6 Apr 1923 - 28 Mar 2003)

Ervin J. Kollmansberger, 79, town of Brighton, died on Friday, March 28, 2003, at the Marshfield Center, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, March 31, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity. The Rev. John Clasen officiated. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, with full military rites. Pallbearers were Tyler Kollmansberger, Eric Kollmansberger, Ryan Griepentrog, Jim Schiszik, John Tate and Butch Kollmansberger.

Ervin John Kollmansberger was born on April 6, 1923, in Marathon County, to Robert and Magdelena (nee Riemer) Kollmansberger. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Maybelle Briesch on Jan. 12, 1946. They farmed in the town of Eaton, rural Greenwood, for 18 years. He was also a truck driver and owned and operated a construction trucking firm. He later was an over-the-road trucker for ATS Trucking, St. Cloud, Minn. He also hauled logs for Hamel Logging, Vesper. They resided in Unity since 1969. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity. His interests included bowling, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Maybelle Kollmansberger, Unity; four sons, Ervin "Butch" (Vicky) Kollmansberger, Dorchester, Dennis Kollmansberger, Unity, Arlyn Kollmansberger, Spencer, and Scott Kollmansberger, Marshfield; three daughters, Sharon (James) Schiszik, Spencer, Patricia Behrens, Marshfield, and Kimberly (John) Tate, Yipsilanti, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Shirley) Kollmansberger, Greenwood; and one sister, Myra (Florian) Seichter, Montezuma, Iowa.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one granddaughter, Jodie Behrens; one grandson, Corey Griepentrog; one sister, Lorraine Messa; and three brothers, Leonard Kollmansberger, Harold Kollmansberger and Leslie Kollmansberger.

Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, assisted the family with arrangements.
