Foundation for the D.R. Moon Memorial Library will be done early in spring. Leppner and Bartlett have the building contract.

70 YEARS AGO (Feb. 6, 1931)

J.J. Long Sons are remodeling their entire store.

The Stanley High School Affirmative Debating Team meets Ladysmith on Monday. The team is: Eleanor Flanagan, Jack Long, Dick Bridgman and Alice Long.

60 YEARS AGO (Feb. 7, 1941)

Stanley Bowling team, the Kinas Club 73, represents Stanley in the American Bowling Congress international tournament in St. Paul. Members are Dr. Gaber, George Follien, Willard Mortensen, Archie Johnson, Harold Peterson and Carl Kordahl.

50 YEARS AGO (Feb 8, 1951)

City Council approved raises of $15 each for Chief of Police Halmstad and Police Officer Zais.

40 YEARS AGO (Feb. 9, 1961)

Dr. M.T. Szatalowicz was a guest speaker at the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Associal in Minneapolis last week.

25 YEARS AGO (Feb. 5, 1976)

Bob Wanish lost his farm to a fire on Tuesday. The livestock and pigs were saved.

Dr. M.T. Szatalowicz was appointed to the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Assoc. Resolutions Committee. He was elected to the American Veterinary Medical Assoc. House of Delegates.
