Percy Marshall rides a new bicycle.

Charlie Vetterkind is laying a foundation for his new barn.

Jerry Asselin is laying a foundation for his new home.

R.H. Tolford went to Neillsville last week and returned with his family.

Mosman Garrison returned from Minneapolis where he was attending business college.

John McGrogan is excavating a basement for his barn.

Arthur Hudson and Orea Ney returned from Beaver Dam where they were attending Wayland Academy.

Mrs. E. Cordes moved into the building next to Rainery’s Drug Store where she will open a restaurant.

Phil. Mattes is building an extension to his saloon where he will sell groceries and dry goods.

A marriage license was issued to Ernest Baumgarten and Ida Beckman.

L.O. Garrison and Chas. Kuehl will open a store in Curtiss. Richard Fults will run it.

Peter Gengler has purchased Jos. Ludwig’s farm.

75 YEARS AGO...

June 9th, Mr. & Mrs. Clyde Perkins had a daughter. Mom is the former Pheobe Evenson.

M&M Joe Schmittfranz had a son on June 16th.

Mrs. Dan Mackowicz died last Sunday.

Mrs. Frank Stewart was fatally burned when starting a fire and the kerosene exploded. She died shortly after.

A marriage license was issued to John Albiniak and Mary Ruthowski.

Charlotte Stryk and Arthur Stewart were wed June 13th.

Mildred Heagle and John Berg were wed in Janesville on Saturday.

Clara Herman and Harvey G. Ebben were wed June 16th at St. Hedwigs by Rev. F.A. Kulig.

50 YEARS AGO...

The final profession ceremony for Sister Mary Antonette O.S.M., daughter of M&M Emil Henke was held July 19th.

Presented diplomas by St. Josephs School of Nursing were Esther Osowski, Dorothy Papierniak and Mary Ann Rasmussen.

M&M Clarence Welzien had a son June 12th.

Services were held for Wm. Powers who died in a truck crash in Ohio on Saturday.

M&M Andrew Page had a son on June 18th.

Father Kmala had services for John Krystoflak, age 86, who died June 10th in Marshfield.

Phyllis Henke and Marlin Johnson were wed June 14th.

Eleanore Mueller and Lawrence Beckman were wed May 19th in Milwaukee.

M&M Ben Endru had a daughter on June 13th in Chippewa Falls.

25 YEARS AGO...

Leo Dulek died June 22nd in Marshfield.

Mary Neiman, age 81, died June 15th in Owen.

Edward Zalewski, age 67, died June 18th in Marshfield.

Effie Kristiansen, age 90, died June 16th in Stanley.

M&M Robert Gay had a son in Chippewa Falls.

M&M Marvin Mengel had a son June 15th.

10 YEARS AGO...

Willard Weber, age 69, died June 18th in Marshfield.

Viterbo College named students do deans list. Suzanne M. Miller from Thorp was one of them.

Cheryl Ann Szemraj was named outstanding Graduating senior in the school of Education at the UW-Madison.

George Couillard, age 81, died on June 23rd in Marshfield.

Edmund Teclaw, age 84, died June 13th. He was a native of Thorp but was living in San Antonio, Texas for 45 years.

Jennie Czerwinski, age 81 died June 22nd in Taft.

OLD PICTURE: Nine children posing for a picture. I’m guessing this was the 50's? June 13th’s picture was Clara Leveritch and Gretchen Berdal.

The first entry in the 75 years ago , should actually be Purkis had a son. It was my father, Carol M.
