Kronberg, Charles (1868 - 25 Dec 1915)

Charles Kronberg met a violent death on the railroad track a short distance west of the village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.), about one o'clock on Saturday morning last by being struck by the limited train No. 4. Mr. Kronberg was on his way home, leaving the village about twelve o'clock on Christmas Eve. Mike Ramer, also on his way home, found the unfortunate man about two o'clock. Marshal Leibole and Justice George Burke were notified and the body was brought to J. G. Bogumill's undertaking establishment and later taken to the home of his sister, Mrs. Lindquist. Mr. Kronberg was no doubt instantly killed, his neck and ribs on the left side being broken and crushed. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon from the M. E. Church, Rev. A.M. Ivey officiating. Deceased was born in Sweden about 47 years ago and came here with his parents about 26 years ago. He leaves an aged mother, one sister, Mrs. E. Lindquist, and three brothers, John of Wirch, N. D., Mike and Peter of this place.
