Hipke, Clara (Marriage - 20 APR 1920)
The marriage of Miss Clara Hipke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hipke, and Mrs. Peter B. Bogumill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Bogumill, took place at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Tuesday morning, April 20, 1920, Father John Neises officiating. The bride wore a white satin dress trimmed with silver lace, a bridal veil gathered Egyptian style and silver slippers and carried a bouquet of pink and white rosebuds. The bridesmaids, the Misses Helen Christenson and Bernice Burke wore dresses of white organdie and carried pink and white sweet pears. Ed Bogumill and Lee Hipke attended the groom. Miss Wilma Hipke was maid of honor.
After the services the bride and groom, attendants and guests repaired to the rooms over the Garrison Mercantile Cos. Store fitted up for their future home, where a sumptuous dinner was served at noon. The dining room was tastily decorated with pink and white crepe paper and the table decorations were smilax and pink and white carnations.
The bride is a young lady of many graces of min and person and is capable of filling the home she will adorn with happiness and contentment.
The groom is considered one of the substantial young men of the community and as manager of the Garrison Mercantile Cos. Store is making rapid strides as a successful businessman.
It is with much pleasure the Courier chronicles the marriage of such worthy young people and this paper wafts to them its warmest congratulations.
