Hribar, Ludwig L. (1 NOV 1919 - 20 Apr 2003)

Ludwig L. Hribar, 83, Willard, died on Sunday, April 20, 2003, at Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., with an 8 p.m. prayer service, on Thursday, April 24, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to a 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Friday, April 25, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. The Rev. Joseph Follmar will officiate. Burial will be in the Willard Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Wildish, Ron Hribar Jr., Ryan Zellmer, Michael Hribar, Richard Hribar and Tom Hribar. Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Barr, Lee LaMarr, Hank Janezich, Wally Hribar, Willy Hribar, Tony Hribar and Frank Hedemark.

Ludwig Louie Hribar was born on Nov. 1, 1919, in Willard, to Frank Sr. and Anna (nee Zitnik) Hribar. He was raised on the family farm and educated in the Willard area. After his education, he moved to Chicago to work. He married Elma Krultz on March 14, 1942, in Neillsville. They farmed west of Greenwood for 30 years and then owned and operated Tioga Inn. He operated the tavern until his retirement. He was a member of NSPJ Lodge #198 and a former chairman of the town of Seif. His interests included trout fishing, playing cards, deer hunting and making sausage.

Survivors include eight children, Ron (Janice) Hribar, Oconomowoc, Diane (John) Wildish, Greenwood, Jean (Charlie) Zellmer, Hartland, Bob (Beatie) Hribar, The Woodlands, Texas, Fred (Deb) Hribar, Conroe, Texas, Lud Jr. (Tammy) Hribar, Waunakee, Judy (Ron) Sowieja, Greenwood, and Sandy (John) Susa, Eleva; 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walter (Clara) Hribar, Greenwood, William (Mary) Hribar, Willard, and Tony Hribar, Lake Villa, Ill.; and one sister, Olga (Frank) Hedemark, Neillsville. Preceding him in death were his wife, Elma, on June 17, 1992; his parents; one granddaughter, Tina Marie Wildish; four brothers, Frank Hribar Jr., Joe Hribar, John Hribar and Louie Hribar; and three sisters, Anna Marincic, Mary Crotzer and Bernice Bruksch. Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.
