Dr. Jerome Dietzler

Dr. Jerome John Dietzler, 68, N4056 Gilman Road, Gilman, local Thorp dentist, died Friday August 31, 2001, 11:52 a.m. at St. Joseph Hospital Marshfield.

He was born on May 6, 1933, in Gilman, WI, the son of Milford and Katherine (Kapszukjewicz) Dietzler. Jerry grew up in Gilman attending local schools graduating from Gilman High School in 1950. He then attended Marquette University, graduating from the School of Dentistry in 1956.

He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1956 to 1958. On September 9, 1960 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jarmoluk at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Gilman, WI. They lived in Thorp, WI, where he practiced dentistry and later moved to Gilman in 1993.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, lifelong member of St. Peter & Paul parish, St. Agnes Choir, Parish Council and a member of the Gilman Lions Club. Jerry had a great love for his family, enjoyed gardening and his flowers and had a special for love for his Blessed Mother and was known for his active role in the church.

He is survived by his wife Betty of Gilman, WI; one daughter, Mary Beth (Allen) Thompson of Stanley, WI; one son James (Cindy) Dietzler of Oshkosh, WI; 2 grandchildren: Dalton and McKenna Thompson; his mother, Katherine Dietzler of Gilman, WI; two brothers: Bruce (Joan) of Burnsville, MN and Larry (Nancy) of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his father in 1975 and one sister, Delores.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 4, 2001, 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Gilman, WI with Father Philip Juza officiating. Burial was in Meadowbrook Cemetery, Gilman. Gilman American Legion Post #326 conducted military graveside rites. Visitation was from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Gilman Funeral Home with a parish rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
