Where, oh! Where has he Gone!

Jack Gorman, who was given a twenty-day job on the roads by Justice Kountz for trying to discredit the Bible by living on bread alone when he might have got lots of pork at the same time and in the same manner employer in securing the flour out of which that bread was made, wearied of well-doing, last Wednesday, and on the evening of that day, after he had retired to rest in the county jail, where he had been securely locked up by the officer in charge, concluded to jump the job, which resolution he carried into effect by breaking jail and leaving for parts unknown to those who would restore him. It is supposed that his early departure was owning to information that he had received, in someway, that we would be called to answer to a more serious charge after he had worked out the penalty for the theft of a barrel of flour for which his time was then being employed and of which mention was made last week.
