Welsh, Mary Jane (7 Sep 1890 - Mar 1910)

"Mrs. Mary Jane Welsh, whose illness has been noted from time to time, died last evening at 6:30 at her home at 606 South Maple St., Ottawa, Kansas. Death resulted from a severe stroke of paralysis, which Mrs. Welsh suffered a year ago. Several months ago she was taken to Hot Springs, Ark. for her health, but later removed to a sanitarium in Independence, Mo., where she remained till last Wednesday when her husband brought her home. She was born in Lansing, Moore co., Minn., Sept. 7, 1860, and Sept. 15, 1878 was married to John Welsh, who with eight children, survives her. She was a member of the Methodist Protestant Church, and for the last 16 years has made her home in the county, living the most part in the Hawkins neighborhood, 3 miles northwest of the city. She came to this county from Clark County, Wis. The funeral will be held from the church tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, with burial in Highland Cemetery. The services will be in charge of Rev. McAdams." (Ex.)

The deceased is a sister of Mrs. Frank Clouse of the town of Loyal, Clark County, Wis. She resided in this vicinity three years before she was married to Mr. John Welsh at Neillsville.
