Fulmer, Baldwin M. (6 MAY 1834 - 21 May 1910)

Baldwin M. Fulmer died near Webb Lake on Saturday morning, May 21, 1910, at half past six o'clock at the age of seventy-six years and sixteen days, of diabetes.

He was born in Bertie, Canada on May 6, 1834 and left there with his parents in the fall of 1845 and came to the state of Illinois and remained the winter near Chicago. In 1846 they moved to Dodge Co., Wis. He attended school there for eight years, after which he attended the Lawrence University at Appleton for three years and shortly after joined the Methodist Conference and entered the ministry and was married to Miss Maria Graves at Iron Ridge, Wis. He held services in a number of different places in this state and came to Clark County, Wis. in 1876 and taught a term of school in this village, and three years later purchased the Philpott farm, one and one-half miles northwest of here. He moved to this village nine years ago and for a time was editor of this paper. Six years ago he moved to near Webb Lake where he died.

He enlisted in the army in 1864 and served to the end of the war. He was assemblyman of this district in 1893 and 1894.

He had borne adversity bravely and enjoyed prosperity quietly. He had filled the various relations of life, as son, husband, father, brother, friend and filled them well. Who can do more?

The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church last Thursday and the remains buried by the side of his wife, who died seven years ago.
