Autumn Days By: Elsie Abel

There's something about the Autumn Days Which sets the season quite apart, It brings back my fondest memories And nostalgia to my heart. While the lowering sun slips in the fruit garden Tantalizing odors swell the breeze Oh the beauty of my flower garden Tonight I'm wondering will it freeze?

Oh, there is something about the Autumn days Somehow it fills my heart's desire Oh, how I love those frost touched mornings That necessitate a fire.

There's something tranquil about an Autumn Day When it is blue and dreamy overall When garnered are the golden grains And lengthy shadows fall; But when some drab and rainy morning The whole world seems to frown, I marvel as silvery raindrops drip From the elm tree's golden crown: But a drab day has magnifigance too Where in the storm clouds rolled, When the mist-cleared hills, once more are brushed With Autumn's sunset bold.
