PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 07/04/1918 Frome, Mr./Mrs.
Henry (Silv Anniv - 1 Jul 1918) Wedded twenty-five
years ago and still residing in the same house in which they were
married is the unusually happy circumstances in which Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Frome found themselves Monday of this week. The expression
"found themselves", while strictly accurate is not sufficiently
broad to cover the entire situation. Rather let us say
that about one hundred and twenty-five relatives and friends found
them at their comfortable home in the town of Colby, Clark County,
Wis. Monday evening and took complete possession of the homestead
in a rousing celebration of the silver wedding anniversary, which
occurred at that time. Mr. and Mrs. Frome
were united in marriage July 1, 1893, the bride being Miss Mary
Greske, one of the best known and most popular young ladies of that
time and vicinity. All of the
brothers and sisters of the groom and a large number of relatives
of the bride were present Monday evening as well as a very large
number of their friends and neighbors. A bountiful midnight lunch
was served and many of the young people enjoyed dancing in the
spacious kitchen. The party broke up at a reasonable hour Tuesday
morning, leaving the old newlyweds with a stock of good wishes that
should last them another 25 years. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
