Thistle, Abigail R. (16 Apr 1845 - 2 May 1919)

Abigail Revannah Waldref was born at Fort Atkinson, Wis. April 16, 1845. Died at Colby, Wis. on May 2, 1919 at the age of 74 years and 15 days.

When a young girl she came to Leeds, Wis., where she lived with her parents on a farm until her marriage to David Thistle (deceased) on June 23, 1879. After her marriage they lived at Madison until the year 1889, when they moved to Colby, where she has since resided.

Three children mourn the loss of this mother: Mrs. George Coon of Appleton; Mrs. Gus Flint of Waukon, Iowa and Gene Thistle of Colby, with whom the deceased has made her home since the death of her husband. Another daughter, Florence, was also born to Mrs. Thistle, which died in infancy. Besides the surviving children she also leaves two brothers, Wm. and E. M. Waldref of Morrisonville, Wis.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the M. E. Church, Rev. Paul officiating. Burial was made in the Colby Cemetery, the remains being in charge of undertaker F. W. Lulloff.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mrs. George Coon, Appleton, E. M. Waldref and V. E. Waldref of Morrisonville, Wis. and A.J Atkinson, also of Morrisonville.
