Obituary:

Robert E. Clintsman Jr. [CW3 (Ret)], 47, Clarksville, Tenn., formerly of Greenwood, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, in Christian Co., KY, as a result of an automobile accident. Graveside inturnment services will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Greenwood City Cemetery. The Rev. Mary Anne Conklin will officiate. The Greenwood American Legion Post #238 will conduct military rites and Sam Bristol will accompany with taps.

Robert Eugene Clintsman was born Nov. 24, 1955, in Marshfield, to Robert E. Sr. and Eleanor L. (nee Tyrrell) Clintsman. He was raised and educated in Greenwood, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1973. He served in the military during the Gulf War and was a retired officer of the U. S. Army after 29 years of service.

Survivors include his parents, Robert Sr. and Eleanor Clintsman, Greenwood; two daughters, Kristine (Toby) Fontenont, San Antonio, TX, and Kimberly (Shatar) Oxendine, Clarksville, TN; one stepson, David Straw, Colorado; four grandchildren; three sisters, Nancy (Jared) Ashland, Appleton, Roxane (Mike) Purgett, Greenwood, and Diane (Jim) Zimmerman, Janesville; one brother, Dennis Clintsman, Mount Shasta, CA; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Memorials May be given in his name to Creating Hope By Assisting Parents (C.H.A.P.) 709 Franklin St., Clarksville, TN 37040.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Robert Eugene Clintsman Jr., 47, Clarksville, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, in Christian County, Ky.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sykes Funeral Home with Tom Payne officiating. The remains will be cremated.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

He was born Nov. 24, 1955, in Marshfield, Wis., son of Robert E. Clintsman Sr. and Eleanor Tyrrell Clintsman.

Mr. Clintsman was retired from the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Gulf War.

In addition to his parents of Wisconsin, survivors include his wife, Gloria Bishop Clintsman; a son, David Straw, Colorado; three daughters, Kristine Fontenot, San Antonio, Kimberly Oxendine, Clarksville, and Jacqueline Vinson, Greenville, Ky.; a brother, Dennis Clintsman, California; three sisters, Nancy Ashland, Roxane Purgett and Diane Zimmerman, all of Wisconsin; four grandchildren and a step-grandchild.

I am so sorry to request another correction. I am sure it was my mistake. I am not thinking clearly these days. Rob and I were married on the 2nd of Sept. and not the 1st. I did not have a military picture of Rob so I printed one from this site but still visit often to just look at him and check to see if anything has been added. Thank you again, Gloria Clintsman

Rob and I were married on Sept. 1st of this year in Colorado Springs . It was just 12 days prior to his death. There is no mention of me in his obit nor anywhere on your site. Please correct this. Thank you, Gloria Bishop Clintsman
