Bartel, Leona (Marriage - 10 JUN 1919)

On Tuesday morning, June 10, 1919, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby, Rev. Father H. Lachnitt united in marriage Miss Leona Bartel and Mr. Lawrence Ohlinger. The bride was attired in a gown of white crepe de chine trimmed with georgette. She wore a cap veil and her flowers were white roses and carnations intertwined with maiden hair ferns. She was attended by Miss Hilda Ohlinger, as maid of honor, whose gown was white mull. She also carried a bouquet of white roses and carnations. Leo Apfelbeck acted as best man, wearing the conventional black.

After the nuptial ceremony the bridal party drove to the Lukowicz studio, where wedding pirctures were taken, after which they departed for the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Untiedt, eight miles west of the city (Colby, Wis.), where at 6:00 o'clock a wedding dinner was served the invited guests and relatives.

The bride is an accomplished young lady and popular with all who know her, both in this city and the town of Green Grove, Clark County. The groom but recently returned from the army, having seen six months service overseas. Before entering the army he was employed at Clintonville in the Four Wheel Drive Auto Co. in which plant he will again be employed.

The young couple will be at home to their many friends at Clintonville after July 4th, the best wishes of the entire community going with them for happiness and prosperity in the new home they are about to open.
