WITHEE LOCAL NEWS--J. F. Barber, Correspondent.

We need rain.

W. C. Tufts went to Neillsville Tuesday.

Tom Crowley of Thorp was in town Monday.

C. A. Brown took in Stanley sights last week.

C. A. Brown and Mr. Rand Sundayed at Greenwood.

Frank Sturgeon was a caller at. Stanley Saturday.

L. LaFlex has on sale three good second hand bikes. Chas. Soon and wife visited friends at Curtiss Thursday.

Harry Randal visited his lady friend the first of the week.

Bell Chifton went to Oshkosh Monday to see her mother.

Mr. Rolfe lost a good horse one of' the hot days last week.

J. Jacobsen is building a new house just outside of our village.

Dr. Nielson went to Oshkosh on professional business Monday.

Dode Fisk visited at the home of W. S. Tufts last week. Why?

Mr. Casper is looking over his business interests here this week.

P. H. Hanson went to Thorp last week and brought home a new cart.

Mrs. Alex LaBarge and children have returned from a visit at Thorp.

Chas. Funk has made his family happy by presenting them a new organ.

Our boys were badly beaten by the Greenwood, boys, but we hope to even it up next week.

Our watchmaker, E. Nielsen, is kept rushed with work, the people evidently I appreciating good home work.

Chris. Schmidt is uneasy over $375 in German Exchange he has in the bank at Chilton which suspended recently.

Mr. Blackburn left for his home at Waukesha Friday. He will attend the carnival at Milwaukee before returning.

Mr. Funk's store will be known as the Cash Mercantile Co. By respecting their patrons, they are doing a hustling business.

Burglars entered the hardware store of W. F. Nielsen last Sunday night and helped themselves to razors, revolvers, knives, spoons and cash. After making a good Collection, they made good their escape.

Jens Miller lost by fire last Monday, a large barn and 12 tons of hay. Loss $1400, half covered by insurance. Immediately after unloading, the men noticed smoke issuing from the barn, water was procured but the fiend did its work so rapidly nothing could be done.
