Lukowicz, August (1893 - 1 Jul 1927)

August Lukowicz, whose death was chronicled in the Phonograph last week, died of apoplexy, Friday, July 1, 1927, at Chicago. Funeral services were held at the St. Nickolas Church, Chicago, Rev. A. Heyde officiating, and interment made in Colby St. Mary's Cemetery.

The deceased was born in Poniatowski, Wis., in 1893, thus reaching the age of thirty-four years. He lived in Colby, Wis. at different times, about twenty-seven years and helped build the present Colby Roller Mills. Two years ago, he left Colby for Chicago, where he was employed in a grist mill. He never married.

He leaves to mourn his departure three brothers and four sisters, namely: Joseph of Antigo, Frank and Leo of Colby, Wis., Mrs. S. Kroll of Edgar, Mrs. Phil Koll of Racine, Mrs. Al Dolmar of Minot, N.D. and Mrs. George Dumas of Chicago.

Those who were in Chicago for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. S. Kroll of Edgar, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Koll of Racine, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Dumas of Chicago, and Mr. Frank Lukowicz of Colby.

The deceased was well and favorably known in Colby and his many friends extend sympathy to the mourners.
