MRS. LOUISE GRUHLKE 11-13-1947

Mrs. Louise Gruhlke passed away on Monday, November 3, 1947 at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 22 days.

Louise Thur, eldest daughter of Frederick and Mary Thur was born on April 11, 1873 at Cleveland, Jackson county. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith in October of the same years. At the age of fourteen she was confirmed by Rev. Prohl and remained a faithful member of the Lutheran church until her death.

On November 16, 1893 she was married to Wm. Gruhlke. To this union six children were born. An infant daughter, Ethel and a son Arthur preceded her in death.

In the spring of 1945 she suffered a stroke and although her activities were limited she was able to attend to her household duties. In January of this year she was confined to her bed and wheel chair and gradually growing more helpless. She bore her affliction without complaint and was ready to meet her Savior when death came.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, a son Julius of Laurel, Mont., three daughters, Mrs. Henry Emanual and Mrs. Clifford Kurtzweg of Fairchild and Mrs. T. C. Papeck of Preston, Ontario; three brothers, William Thew of Lone Wolf, Okla., Robert and Albert Thur of Fairchild; two sisters, Alma Gruhlke, Fairchild and Mrs. Theo. Hoffman of Wausau. There are fourteen grandchildren and one great grandson.

Burial services were held Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran church, Rev. Jank officiating. She was laid to rest in the Fairchild Village cemetery beside her daughter.
