Miss Dorothea Hoffman passed away Monday, August 26, 1929, at 12:45 P.M. after a prolonged illness. She had been quite ill for the last year, growing worse continually until she was summoned to the Great Beyond. Her age at the time of her death was 27 years, 7 months and 3 days. The deceased was born January 23, 1902, here at Fairchild, and went to Wausau several years ago with her parents. She passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hoffman, 317 Eighth Ave. S. She is survived by her parents, three sisters, Mrs. Seakbeil (nee Cora Hoffman) of Sheboygan, Laura and Madeline Hoffman at home, and a brother, Clarence Hoffman, also at home. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, August 29, at the family residence at 1:30 o'clock and at the Trinity Lutheran church of Wausau at 2:00 o'clock, the Rev. E.H. Bertermann officiating. The body was laid at rest there in Pine Grove cemetery. The out of Town relatives who attended the funeral, were: Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Senkbeil and Mrs. Ray Herman of Sheboygan, Mrs. Frank Wolters and Miss Sabina Arndt of Oshkosh, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thur and family of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. C. Proehl and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hoffman, Mrs. Amelia Arndt, son and a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Arndt, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Moldenhauer, Mr. and Mrs. John Wolfgang and son and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wolfgang, all of Augusta, Mrs. Rudolph Thur and children, Mr. and Mrs. Robt Thur, son and daughter, Mrs. Wm. Gruhlke, Mrs. Alma Gruhlke and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hoffman, Rudolph Hoffmann and Mrs. Gust Kotke, all of Fairchild, and Mrs. J.C. Hahn and Mr. Luther of Humbird. Miss Hoffman was warmly regarded by a wide circle of friends here and at Wausau, and to whom it was a great shock when they learned of her death. Sympathy is extended to the members of her family in the hour of their sorrow.
