Duellman, Loretta C. (Marriage - 18 Sep 1928)

A very pretty wedding took place at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 1928, at 9:00, when Miss Loretta Catherine Duellman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Duellman, was united in marriage to Ernest P. Gierl, son of Mrs. Frank Gierl, Sr. The nuptial mass was read by Rev. Lachnit. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, Mr. Henry Duellman, at church, was attired in a beautiful gown of white beaded georgette crepe with beaded head dress and veil. Her bouquet consisted of roses and sweet peas.

Miss Wilma Duellman, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and wore a dress of yellow georgette crepe with silver lace and her bouquet consisted of roses, sweet peas and swansonias. Miss Anna Lukowicz, niece of the groom, acted as bridesmaid and also wore a dress of yellow georgette crepe with silver beads and her bouquet also consisted of roses, sweet pears and swansonias. The groom was attended by Mr. Aaron Thorn as best man and Mr. Clem LaFond. The bridesmaid was attended by Misses Veronica Elsinger and Miss Silveria Elsinger, twin cousins of the bride, with Armond Duellman, brother of the bride. The Misses Elsinger wore gowns of green georgette with velvet trimmings. The flowers girls, Rita Thorn and Delores Brill, dressed in pink georgette with gold lace, carried baskets of sweet peas and asters.

Following the ceremony at the church, the party autoed to the Lukowicz studio, where pictures were taken. Then all repaired to the home of the bride's parents, where a wedding reception was held. The home was very prettily decorated with autumn leaves and white, green, yellow and pink streamers for the occasion.

In the evening, a free wedding dance was given at Wiedenhoeft's pavilion, which was largely attended by friends and relatives.

The newlyweds left on a wedding trip to the northern part of the state and will be at home at Gierl Brothers farm after their return.

Both the bride and groom are very well and favorably known to the people of Colby, Wis. and vicinity and are known as young people of excellent standing. The Phonograph joins their many friends in extending congratulations and best wishes.

Those from out of town who were here for the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Duellman and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Duellman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Duellman, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvin Duellman, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shettler, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Bauers, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bauers, Miss Alberta Bauers, all of Fountain City, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Duellman and family of Rollingstone, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bauers of Thorp; Mrs. Mike Herdegen of Chicago; Mr. Joe Seider, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fifenberger, Mr. and Mrs. William Piel and family, Mrs. John Thorn and family, Mr. Math Thorn, Sr., Mr. Aaron Thorn, Mrs. J.
