Guenther, Elvira (Marriage - 27 NOV 1929)

A very pretty wedding took place at the M. E. Church at Marshfield Wednesday, Nov. 27, 1929, at 2:30 p.m., when Miss Elvira Guenther, daughter of Mrs. Anna Guenther, became the bride of Mr. Gordon Forbish, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Forbish, Rev. Weed reading the marriage ceremony and the bridal march being played by Mrs. Weed. The bride was attended by Miss Mabel Rasmussen and the groom was attended by Harold Guenther, brother of the bride.

The bride wore a beautiful dress of white velvet trimmed with a pearl ornament that the bride's mother wore on her wedding dress nearly twenty-five years ago. She carried a bridal bouquet of roses, carnations and calla lilies. The bridesmaid wore a peach colored dress of satin faced crepe trimmed with silk lace. She carried a bouquet of roses and carnations.

After the ceremony, a supper was served at the home of the bride to immediate friends, the home being nicely decorated with pin and white streamers and white wedding bells.

The out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Guenther of Sheboygan, a brother of the bride. The couple left the following day on a wedding trip to the southern part of the state and also Illinois. The newlyweds will be at home after Dec. 15th, on the farm of the groom's parents, where they will make their future home.

Both the bride and the groom are well and favorably known here and have many friends who wish them a long and happily married life.
