Mohr, for a number of years associated with the Owen Realty Co., died at the home of this son, Leonard Mohr, one mile south of this city (Owen, Clark County, Wis.), on Friday May 14, 1920, following an illness of about eleven days. For the past five years he had been in ill health, but never so bad as to have to remain indoors. Mr. Mohr was one of the early pioneers of Chippewa Co., going to the town of Edson, south of Boyd, in the year 1866, the nearest trading point being Chippewa Falls, and that only could be reached by a trail through the woods. The nearest railroad point when he settled there was Sparta. When locating at Edson, Mr. Mohr settled on a wild piece of land, later entering the mercantile business, which he continued for about eight years, after which he moved with his family to Boyd, where he again entered business for himself.
