Mr. and Mrs. Shoop enjoyed a visit from their daughter Kate Sunday.

Eric Nelson is quite sick with malaria fever.

A surprise party was given an Andrew Short’s Thursday evening, and a good time reported. There was a logging bee at Otto Schroeder’s last Friday.

GREEWOOD: The sociable given at Miss Hannah Hopewell’s house was well attended, and netted the society $5.65.

A large amount of sidewalk has been laid which fills long felt want.

J. B. Drake is putting up a building on the Schofield addition which he will occupy during the winter, and in the spring will build a fine residence.

Will Fricke of Billings, Montana, was married a few weeks ago, which was a surprise to his friends in this city.

Mr. and Mrs. Bass of Curtiss, are here on a visit, the guests of James Bryden’s family.

The remains of Mrs. Catherine McCarty were brought here for burial on Sept. 24th, from Minneapolis where she went ot visit a daughter a short time ago.

Mr. Kahn has put up a neat building across the street from his stave factory to be used as an office.

Frank Pfifer has put many improvements on his house, besides refurnishing the interior with new furniture etc.

Dave Shanks has brick-veneered his house, making it one of the neatest residences in the city.

John McMahon will sell his lands, stock, etc, and become a resident of this city. He will move here to-morrow.

NEVISN: Myron Pickering has cleared and seeded six or seven acres this fall, making him about twelve acres reclaimed from the forest in a short time.

Mrs. Sholtz, who by the way, is a wife-awake farmer, has all her fall plowing and seeding done, after harvesting a fine crop of grain and hay.

Byron Pickering, our post-master, has been stumping some this fall, and otherwise improving his place.

Andrew Lawson has done some in the same direction, also Jule and Ed. Zimerdorf.

Joe. Janens has been busy clearing off seven acres , with three more to come yet this fall, making him one of the finest farms in the town.
