Irene S. Turner

Irene Turner, 88, Neillsville, died FRiday, Oct. 31, 2003 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 4, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Neillsville. The Rev. Woodrow Pace officiated. Burial was in the York Center Cemetery, Town of York. Pallbearers were Larry Turner, Rodney Turner, Ty Turner, Larry Reinart, Jr., Dale Reinart and Paul Reinart.

Irene Sophie Reinart was born on Feb. 09, 1915 in Currie, Minn., to Martin and Daisy (nee Noll) Reinart. When she was a young child, her family moved to Wisconsin, where they lived in both Bruce and Ladysmith. She attended school in Ladysmith. In 1926, they moved to Neillsville, and she finished her schooling at the Shortville school. At age 14, she went to work doing housework for families in the area. She married Myron Turner. At the time, he was in the service, so they moved to California, where he was stationed. Upon returning to Wisconsin, they opened a resort in Eagle River. Her interests included bowling, cards, and cooking.

Survivors include one sister, Marie Lepke, Neillsville; and one brother, Lawrence Reinart, Wind Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; and her brothers and sisters, Lillian, Martin, Susie, Peter, Clarence, Bill, Joe, John, George, and Arnold.

Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
