C. G. Stow, of Loyal visited the county seat Monday on business. Mr. Stow and his parents came to this country in ’65, when this city was but a very small place, not as large as Granton, and took up a homestead on section 21, town of Loyal. The country in that locality at that time was a dense wilderness. Mr. Stow owns a steam threshing outfit and during the winter runs a feed grinder.

S. D. Gibson the cheesemaker, and logger of Wilcox, visited the county seat Monday on business. He is putting in logs this winter for Sawyer & Austin Lumber company of La Crosse. Sam is always a friend of the printer and for 18 years has keep a faithful subscriber to the PRESS>
