Kodl, Edna February 11, 1913 - March 30, 2003

Edna A. Kodl, age 90 of Thorp, died at Victory Medical Center, in Stanley on Sunday, March 30, 2003 at 1: 45 p.m. Services will be held at a later date. Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Edna Anna Nieman was born on February 11, 1913, in Chicago, IL. The daughter of John and Anna (Forejt) Nieman. She was raised in Cicero, IL and received her education in Cicero Public Schools. Edna was united in marriage to Milton J. Kodl on April 28, 1934 at St. Ludmilla Catholic Church in Chicago. They moved to Thorp in 1941, where they purchased a farm and Edna was a homemaker.

In 1970, they sold the farm and moved into Thorp and had resided there since. Edna’s interests included: bingo, crossword puzzles and dancing. She will be sadly missed by her four daughters: Elaine (Gale) Kienholz of Woodbury, MN, Marjorie (David) Smith of Payson, AZ., Jeanette (Paul) McCatharn of Ocala, FL., Deborah (James) While of Glibert, AZ., one son Milton Jr. (Norma) of Owen; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and one sister Ruth Sarno of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Milton, one brother John and five sisters: Ella, Mamie, Helen, Violet and Gladys.

Hi, I would like to say hello to my cousins listed above. My sister, Lisa and I live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and I see Jeanette lives in Ocala so close. Our mother,Ruth, passed away shortly after Aunt Edna. We have a brother A J who lives in Kansas City. I don't have any children and I am a widow for 14 yrs. My husband died in a truck accident. Would love to hear from you. Love, Judie ps Aunt Ella's daughter, Dorothy, lives here in town also and we have lunch alot.
