Double funeral services will be held at the York Center Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday for two brothers who died as the result of an auto accident near Alberton, Montana, on Labor Day. They are Horace Lawrence, 74, and his brother Roy, 80. Horace of 1103 East Blodgett Street, Marshfield, died instantly about midnight Monday when the car being driven by his brother Roy, Route 1, Neillsville, hit loose gravel on a road construction project on Highway 10, near Alberton. Roy was hospitalized at Missoula, Montana, where he died Tuesday night of a concussion. The brothers had been visiting on the West Coast and were eastbound en route to Missoula, Montana to visit another brother, Earl, who is seriously ill, and were only 40 miles from Missoula when the accident occurred. The bodies are enroute to Neillsville and will repose at the Georgas Funeral Home on Fifth Street, beginning Friday noon. The Rev. Paul Doering, Loyal, will officiate at the services Saturday, and burial will be made at the York Center cemetery. Roy Lawrence was born January 6, 1883, in the Town of York, and did electrical work and farmed until retiring in 1946. He married Sadie Huntley February 16, 1905, in Neillsville. She died, in 1945 and in 1946 he moved to Seattle, where he married again. His second wife died in 1958, and two years later he returned to Clark County. Besides the sister and two brothers, he leaves four daughters, Mrs. Herman (Agnes) Karlen, Monticello, Wisconsin; Mrs. Francis (Leta) Jacobson, Route 1, Pittsville; Mrs. Roy (Della) Chase, Neillsville; and Mrs. Lawrence (Vivian) Vandeberg, Marshfield; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
