Ruth E. Ulesich

Ruth Ulesich, age 80, of Neillsville, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, in the Emergency Room at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

Ruth Edna Ulesich was born on Dec. 10, 1923 in Hendren Township, the daughter of Oscar and Marie (nee McCune) Kuenkel. She graduated from Worchel School and helped her family farm until she married Tony Ulesich on May 11, 1946 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe.

Ruth and Tony lived on the Ulesich family farm in Willard where they raised their family and farmed until 1976, when they built and moved into their retirement home in the Town of Seif.

Ruth enjoyed traveling, playing cards, gardening, and was always ready to visit with family and friends, especially if she could serve you a meal, with her special apple pie for dessert.

She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe.

She is survived by one daughter, Shirley (Wayne) Foemmel of Carmichael, Calif., two sons, LaVerne (Ginger) Ulesich of Springfield, Missouri, and Frank (Diane) Ulesich of West Bend; seven grandchildren and one g reat-grandson; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband in January, 1991; one sister, Irene; one brother, Roger, in infancy; and one brother-in-law, Art Zerbel.

Due to her health, she stayed with her daughter in California, the last four months at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, and a few weeks at the Memorial Nursing Home in Neillsville.

Funeral services for Ruth were held Dec. 22 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe. Pastor Daniel Cole officiated. Interment was in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Honorary casket bearers were Harold Thoma and Bob Ladd.

Casket bearers were Kurt Hediger, Robert Heideman, Alfred Kuenkel, Marvin Marg, Frank Pekol, Brian Wagner, and Wayne Wagner.

The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Ruth’s family with arrangements.
