Joseph Zenz, Jr., died at his home one-half mile west of Loyal on Thursday afternoon, July 13, at the age of 42 years. "Little Joe" as he was familiarly called was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zenz, Sr., and was born in Lanchester, Wis., May 14, 1891. In the year 1903, he came with his parents to Loyal locating on the farm where he has since lived and where he grew to manhood. In 1910 he graduated from the Loyal High School.

His marriage to Miss Martha Rueth took place October 1, 1925. To this union were born two sons and a daughter, all of whom preceded him in death.

The deceased was of a quiet and retiring nature, a lover of his home and a good neighbor. He was a man of sound judgement, strictly honest and fair in his dealings with people and was held in high esteem by all that knew him.

The funeral was held Monday morning, July 17, at 9 o'clock at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with the Rev. Aurit officiating at High Mass. Rev. Arthur Leabel of Detroit, a boyhood friend of the deceased gave the sermon. The service was largely attended by friends and neighbors who gathered to pay their final respects. Burial was in the family lot in the parish cemetery.

The pallbearers were Ed. and Mike Beaver, Max Miller, Art Klimmer, John Schweiger and Raphael Haas.

Those in charge of the flowers were: Mrs. Art Klimmer, Mrs. Harold Tucker, Miss Margaret Church and Mrs. Lawrence Cowles.

Those from away who attended the funeral were John Meunch. Geo. Harasha, Cel Pink, Helen Zenz, Mary Zenz, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Zenz, Frank Zenz, Bernadine Zenz, Leo and Marcus Zenz, Mrs. Mary Ertz, John Ertz and Oscar Brandy from Lanchester, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Pierce Patterson, Mrs. Henry Pink and daughter, Magdelene, Geo. Nies, Mrs. John Gengler, Harry Zenz from Bloomington, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Herman Koppen and son Frank from Cassville, Wis., Will Zenz, Potosi, Wis; Ben Zenz, Patch Grove; John and Ben Pink of Auburbdale; Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Hinker, and Mrs. Ed. Hinker, Greenwood.

The Tribune joins the wide circle of friends and acquaintances of the deceased in offering condolences to the bereaved ones in their hour of sorrow.

Louise is my step G-G Grandmother. Joseph was my G-G Grandfather.
