Two weeks ago Mrs. Loren Hales was taken to the hospital at Marshfield and underwent an operation for appendicitis. In spite of everything that could be done for her she passed away on Sunday morning at the hospital. The remains were brought to the Hales home at York Center for burial. Deceased was born Pearl Davis to Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Davis and was born at Rosendale on May 20, 1893. She was united in marriage to Loren Hales on Aug. 31, 1916. She was a lady of splendid qualifications and her brief life had been one of kindness and charity with the result that she is deeply and sincerely mourned by a large circle of close friends, who extend their sympathy to her husband in his hour of bereavement. Mrs. Hales is also survived by her parents, five brothers and two sisters. The funeral was held at the York Center Methodist church yesterday, services being conducted by Rev. Crow and interment being made in the York Center cemetery.
