Double funeral services will be held at the York Center Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday for two brothers who died as the result of an auto accident near Alberton, Montana, on Labor Day. They are Horace Lawrence, 74, and his brother Roy, 80. Horace of 1103 East Blodgett Street, Marshfield, died instantly about midnight Monday when the car being driven by his brother Roy, Route 1, Neillsville, hit loose gravel on a road construction project on Highway 10, near Alberton. Roy was hospitalized at Missoula, Montana, where he died Tuesday night of a concussion. The brothers had been visiting on the West Coast and were eastbound en route to Missoula, Montana to visit another brother, Earl, who is seriously ill, and were only 40 miles from Missoula when the accident occurred. The bodies are enroute to Neillsville and will repose at the Georgas Funeral Home on Fifth Street, beginning Friday noon. The Rev. Paul Doering, Loyal, will officiate at the services Saturday, and burial will be made at the York Center cemetery. Horace Lawrence was born March 17, 1889, in the Town of York, Clark County. He married Lucy Free March 9, 1910, in Neillsville and they farmed in the Town of York until 1936. He sold cars for three years, then worked for the Roddis Plywood Corporation in Marshfield until retiring in 1955. His wife died in 1960. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Velda) Richardson, Madison, and Mrs. Lee (Vera) Buddinghagen, Route 2, Neillsville; two sons, Gilbert, Granton, and Byrl, Marshfield; two brothers, Orin, Neillsville, and Earl, Missoula; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
