In April 1845, he was married to Miss Martha Clement Moore in Salem, New Jersey, and in 1856 they came to Sheboygan County and a few years later moved to Calumet County where they resided until 1885 when they came to Clark County and settled on a farm in York where Mrs. Rowe died 22 years ago. Their wedded life was blessed with 9 children; two have preceded him in death, six sons and one daughter survive him. Besides these he leaves 24 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. During his young manhood he sailed on the sea for three years and had also visited the West Indies. He followed farming and worked at the carpenter's bench and possessed great skill in the latter. He was ____ both in body and mind up until the day of his death and had a wonderful memory for a man of his age. His body was brought here Monday and the funeral took place Tuesday from the M.E. Church, Rev. N. J. Alderson conducting the services. Six of his grandchildren acted as bearers.
