WIEDENHOEFT RITES SCHEDULED TUESDAY

98-Year-Old City of Colby Woman Dies at Home Saturday Afternoon

COLBY--Mrs. John Wiedenhoeft, 98, believed to be the oldest resident in this commUnity, Wisconsin, died Saturday afternoon at 2:15 o'clock at her home in the City of Colby.

The body is lying in state in the Lulloff Funeral Home, where funeral rites will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock followed by a 2 o'clock service at Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Otto Hoffmann will conduct the services and burial will be made in the Colby Cemetery.

Mrs. Wiedenhoeft, the former Augusta Mielke, was born May 30, 1849, in West Prussia, Germany, and was married there July 19, 1868, to John Wiedenhoeft, who preceded her in death many years ago.

The Wiedenhoefts came to America in the fall of the same year they were married and settled on a farm in Dodge County, near Lomira. They lived on a farm in the Town of Colby from 1893 until moving to the City of Colby in 1916.

Surviving are seven children, William, Herman, and Albert Wiedenhoeft, Mrss. Charles Feind, Mrs. Albert Franz, and Mrs. Edward Feind, all of Colby, and Mrs. Roger Nickel, Lakewood, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Mary Schultz, Horicon; 32 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-gandchildren.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Gustave, and by three children in infancy.
