Zellar, Mrs. Rudolph (1866? - 28 Jan 1913)

Mrs. Rudolph Zellar died suddenly at about two o'clock Tuesday afternoon, at their home four miles north of town (Humbird, Clark County, Wis.). She had been ill with a cold for several days and Sunday Mr. Zellar was in town after medicine for her. She appeared better Monday, and Tuesday forenoon Mr. Zellar drove to Fairchild, only to find upon his return home later in the day, that his wife had passed away. Several of the children were at home with their mother when she died.

Funeral services were held at the Catholic Church in Fairview Friday morning and the burial was in the cemetery at the church. Mrs. Zellar was a native of Switzerland and was in her 46th years. She was united in marriage with Mr. Rudolph Zellar twenty-four years ago in Dane Co., and eighteen years ago they came to live on the farm north of town, which has since been their home. Twelve children were born to them, two of whom have preceded their mother in death.

Mrs. Zellar was a woman who had toiled hard in helping make a home for her children, and her sudden taking away is a great shock to her husband and family.
