Mary F. Zilk

Mary F. Zilk, age 73, formerly of Neillsville, died at 6:05 a.m., Friday, Jan. 9, at the Marshfield Living center, where she had resided since April, 2003.

Mary Zilk was born March 15, 1931, in Black River Falls, to Francis and Mildred (Welda) Bagan. She was educated in Black River Falls.

Mary was married to Francis Zilk Sept. 24, 1949, in Black River Falls. He died Aug. 5, 1996.

Mary resided in Neillsville, and was a homemaker. She also served on the Neillsville City Council. Mary was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Neillsville.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathy (Robert) Banks of Marshfield, and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Francis; one daughter, Sally Kirch; and two sisters.

A family graveside committal service was held Tuesday, Jan. 13, at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Neillsville with the Rev. Woodrow Pace officiating.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and a memorial fund will be established.

Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
