Keller, Albert (? - 11 May 1972)

Funeral services were held in Fort Lauderdale, Fl, Monday, for Alert Keller, 80, long time and widely known former resident of Neillsville.

Keller died last Thursday from injuries suffered in a fall from the roof of his home. According to local relatives, Keller had contracted for a reroofing of his home, and was taking down an eaves trough before the work was to begin. He fell from eight to nine feet to the ground and lived for about four hours before succumbing to his injuries. Keller was one of four Keller brothers involved in the establishing of the Silver Dome and the Fireplace five miles west of Neillsville on Highway 10. They ran the two businesses for several years and sold out in the early 1950’s.

Al and his wife Agnes were among members of the family who went to Fort Lauderdale, where they owned property. They were engaged in a number of enterprises in the Fort Lauderdale area in the years that followed. However, Al Keller retired a few years ago, and he suffered a slight stroke a short time ago.

Three Neillsville residents were among the members of the family who attended the services Monday in Fort Lauderdale. They were Herbert Keller, a brother William Hrasky, a brother of Mrs. Keller, and Mrs. Hrasky.

Burial was made in the Fort Lauderdale Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Agnes, seven brothers and sisters: Henry of Fort Lauderdale; Walter of Santa Barbara, Ca; Paul of Black River Falls; and Herbert of Neillsville; Miss Clara Keller and Mrs. V. L. (Emma) White of Milwaukee; and Mrs. Minnie Schmidt of Fort Lauderdale.
