Harvey, Robert (Ad Hoc Newsman - 1972)

Named to a committee which will be involved in the organization of a Wester Wisconsin Press club is Robert Harvey, editor and publisher of The Clark County Press.

Other members of the committee are: Fran Booton of WEAA Radio, Aldy Swanson of WEAU-TV both of Eau Claire; Henry Lippold of the journalism faculty of the UW-Eau Clare; and Fred Steffen, managing editor of the Eau Claire leader-Telegram.

The committee was named last Thursday night at a supper meeting of the working press and others in Eau Claire. About 30 interested news and public relations people and journalism professors, were present.

The committee has been charge with the responsibility of presenting a slate of nominees and proposing by-laws for the organization. Active membership will be open to member of news, radio, public relations, and television media, as well as to university journalism department members. Associate memberships will be open to those in closely allied fields.

The purpose of this club will be to provide an opportunity for a free exchange of ideas between newsmen and public and professional figures.
