Storm Damage

Friday night in the storm considerable damage was done in this territory.  At the Ethan Zimmerman farm a barn was blown down and one cow killed and one injured so it had to be killed.

At Donald Wills a shed was destroyed but no livestock killed.  Many trees were blown over or broken off around this area.  A boy was injured.

Mr. and Mrs. Nyole Creed attended a family gathering at the Osbjorn Christofferson home in Ogema on Sunday honoring their mother, Mrs. Andrew Maatta on her 79th birthday.

Jane Fuller, who spent last week at the Ray Binning home, returned to her home at Wisconsin Rapids Saturday.

Joyce Atcherson, Carla and Debby Peterson, and Sharon Cook returned home from a week at Bible camp at Westfield.

The storm of last Friday evening caused a great deal of destruction of buildings and trees around the country near Unity.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Coop and daughters, Nancy and Julie, of Billings, Mont., arrived Thursday to visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Greening and other relatives in the vicinity.

Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson and grand son, Dennis Bloom, spent the week end at their cottage at Pier Lake near Tripoli.

On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Corwin Dallman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Salter and family, and their guest, Mrs. Carl Ellis, of Nebraska, and Earl Salter joined Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson and grand son at Pier Lake near Tripoli.

Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Lynn and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bloom and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Ayer spent the week end at Sturgeon Bay.

The Brighton Homemakers and their families held their annual picnic at Unity Park Sunday.

Mrs. Charles Ellis, Lincoln, Neb., returned home Monday after spending the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Salter.

Recent visitors at the Salter home were Mrs. Clarence Zenner and daughter, Christine, Cadott, who visited last Monday and Wayne Huegel of Milwaukee, who visited there on Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Binning and family and the Arthur Franz family camped out at the evergreen campsite near Silver Lake this last week end.  Jeffrey Teuteberg accompanied them home.

On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Donald Fischer and family and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fischer visited relatives at Wisconsin Rapids.  Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fischer stayed for a longer visit.

The Frank Dearth family visited at the Elmer Dearth home in Owen Sunday.

Mrs. Alma Edblom was a Sunday guest at the Arlyn Edblom home.

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Van Camp have returned to their home at South Gate, Calif., after visiting relatives and friends in Colby and Unity.

Mrs. C. P. Olson and children, Kirk and Karen, Eau Claire, and Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Fuller of Unity returned home Thursday after visiting relatives in Janesville, Monroe, Edgerton and Oregon, Wis.

Arthur Like and son, Robert, of Warrens were Sunday guests at the J. E. Fuller home.  They also called at the Ben Breuer home.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kaufman and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Safemaster were at Ironwood, Mich., over the week end.

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Safemaster left Monday to visit friends and relatives in Milwaukee and Oregon,Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Nyole Creed were Saturday evening guests at the George Stauner Home in Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hardrath and family of Atlanta, Ga., are visiting with relatives in Unity and the surrounding area.

The Howard Hardrath, Herman Hardrath and Harold Hardrath families, Gib Wiedenhoeft, Mrs. Art Wiedendoeft and the Art Wiedendoeft family had a picnic at Colby Sunday.
