Zank, Hazel M. (Dec. 29, 1919-Sept. 27, 2005)

Hazel M Zank, age 85, of Neillsville went home to be with the Lord at 12:15 p.m., Tues. Sept. 27, 2005.

Hazel was born Dec. 29, 1919 in Neillsville to Charles and Bertha (Goette) Schlegelmilch. She was educated at the Reed School. Before her marriage she was employed in Milwaukee. Hazel was married to Albert Zank on June 1,1941 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville, Wis. They lived in Owen for several years and then moved to Appleton where they resided for six years. Albert and Hazel then moved back to Neillsville and bought a farm in the Town of Weston. Albert died Feb. 6, 2003. Hazel continued to reside on the farm. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, polka music, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her wonderful pies.

Surviving are three children, Carl (Donna) Zank of Neillvillep; Carol (Jeff) Clark, of Pahrump, NV; LaVern (Robert) Kadolph, of Loyal; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Albert; five sisters, Violet, Lillian, Alice, Mildred and Esther; and one brother, Norbert.

Private family services were held Thurs. Sept. 29, 2005, at Buchanan Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis. Sister Fran Trochta of Hospice Home Care officiated. Burial was in Neillsville City Cemetery and grandchildren served as pallbearers.

Buchanan Funeral Home of Neillsville assisted the family with arrangements.
