Lloyd, Hattie (15 Jan. 1876 - 19 Feb. 1952)

Mrs. Edwin (Hattie) Lloyd, age 76, died at her home on South Grand Avenue on Tuesday, February 19, 1952 at 8:15 p.m. following an illness of four years duration. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday at two o’clock from the Georgas Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil Nulton officiating. Interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Lloyd was born January 15, 1876, to Matthias and Alberta (Pittengill) Wells in Pine Valley, Clark County. She received her education in Clark County schools. On Dec.5, 1894, she was married to Edwin C. Lloyd at Neillsville, Wis. They farmed in Janesville for three years and returned to Neillsville, where they farmed for 28 years. For the past 26 years she has resided in the city. She was a member of the Neillsville Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors of America and Women’s Auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic. She was very active in church work until her health failed her.

Surviving her are eight children: Mrs. Edward (Eunice) Hansen of Racine, Mrs. Vera Shumway at home, Byno Lloyd of Neillsville, Ray Lloyd of Loyal, Guy Lloyd and Thomas Lloyd of Racine, Mrs. Paul (Elva) Flint of Richfield, Wis., and Calvert Lloyd of Racine; also 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Burton Wells of Neillsville and W. C. Wells of Hamilton, Mont.

Preceding her in death was her husband, in February of 1951, one son Louis, who died in England in World War I in 1918, and two daughters Mae and Mildred.

Miss Betty Jean Kosmosky sang two selections accompanied by Mrs. Virgil Nulton.

Pallbearers were Harry Flitter, Charles Poole, Art Wilding, William Meier, Jesse Wilding and Albert Smith.

Persons from out-of-town attending the services included Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hansen, Mrs. Edna Wankovich, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Mason, Mr. and Mrs. Calvert Lloyd and daughter Kathleen, all of Racine, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Flint of Richfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lloyd and family of Loyal.
