Wantlin, Lovey Anne (21 Feb. 1947 - 3 Feb. 1999)

Lovey Anne Wantlin, 51, Owen, died on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 6 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 8, at the Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, Wis. The Rev. James Snyder officiated. Inurnment will be in the spring.

Lovey Anne Young was born on Feb. 21, 1947, in Albion, Neb., to French and Edith (nee Anderson) Young. She married John Wantlin on Jan. 16, 1965, in Norfolk, Neb. In 1980, the family moved to the Curtiss-Owen area and she tended bar at the Ole Saloon and Bootlegger, both of Curtiss, Wis. They have owned and operated the Hilltop Hangout in the town of Green Grove for the past 13 years. She loved to camp with her family and was known as an excellent cook. She enjoyed league bowling.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, John Wantlin, Owen; her mother, Edith Beaton, Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Tina (Darrell) Erickson, Dorchester, and Terrie Jo (Steve) Kern, Carlsbad, Calif.; one son, Tobin "Toby" Wantlin, Owen; four grandchildren, Amber Rau, Whitney Rau, Nathan Erickson, and Makayla Kern; and two sisters, Julie (Dennis) Petersen, Norfolk, Neb., and Sheila (Mike) Hughes, Las Vegas, Nev.

She was preceded in death by her father, French Young; stepfather, Jesse Beaton; and one brother, Perry Young.

Maurina Funeral home, Abbotsford, assisted the family with arrangements.

This Darrell Erickson is Lila Franes, daughter Jeanette, son. They came over to St. Paul’s church, but never knowing them, never hooked it together.

Darrell is Lila Hardarth Frane’s Grandson.
