Walls, George H. (23 March 1866 - 22 September 1935)

George H. Walls, a prominent farmer of the Town of Loyal, passed away at his home in that town, September 22, at the age of 69 years and six months. His death was due to heart trouble, from which he had suffered for several years.

Mr. Walls was born at Hartford, Wisconsin, March 23, 1866. At the age of 16, he came to Clark County with his parents who settled on a farm near Loyal.

In 1892, he was married to Lilly Allen. Four children were born to them. For 12 years they lived in Lincoln County, where Mr. Walls followed lumbering. In 1905, his wife died and 5 years later he was married to Belle Counsell, who survives him. For 5 years they lived in the State of Washington, but returned to the the Town of Loyal in 1930. Mr. Walls was a man of high character and a good citizen in every way.

Besides his wife, he leaves four children by the first marriage, Mrs. May Stear, Helen, Washington; Archie Walls, Loyal; Mrs. Bessie Seeley, Wenatchee, Washington; and Mrs. Sadie Guston, Nason, Washington; and a daughter by the second marriage, Mrs. Isabelle Johnson, Reston, Washington. There are also five sisters and a brother: Mrs. Mabel McKenzie, Marshfield; Mrs. Nettie Jones, Westboro; Mrs. Nellie Churchill, Sheldon, Washington; Mrs. Jessie Allen, Spokane, Washington; and Mrs. Grace Turner, Granton; Will Walls of Loyal. There were also six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the home, Friday, Rev. A. N. Chapman, officiating. Burial took place in the Loyal Cemetery.
