J. O. Pierce, landlord of the Pierce House, has placed a street lamp on the corner in front of the hotel which is an improvement that has been long needed.

Chas. Vandusen, of Tomahawk was in the village a few hours on Wednesday. Mr. V. is in the drug business and we are glad to state is doing good business.

It is announced that the W. C. company will complete the remainder of their line from Marshfield to Chippewa Falls early next spring. The line will go through about ten miles south of this city.

Mrs. B. C. Palmer received a beautiful Gabler upright piano from her husband as a Christmas present. The instrument was purchased through Fred Klemp, the blind music teacher who pronounces it a very fine one.

In the suit of John Alger against the W.C.R.R., which was tried at Oshkosh last week the jury rendered a verdict of $650 damages in favor of Mr. Alger whose left arm was broken in a collision about a year ago.

Geo. Beachwood's team is rigged out in a new harness with brass ornaments. The harness was made by Peter Hipke and is a fine piece of work and warranted. It pays to buy good goods and Geo. knows it.
